The marble bathroom was a
separate enclosure attached to the bungalow proper and open to the sky. It was equipped
for Balinese style bathing, in which ladies are used for rinsing. The convenient half-bath
upstairs adjacent to the bedroom had a western-style toilet.
A spiral staircase led to the bedroom with
its vaulted 12-foot ceilings and king-size bamboo bed. The comfortable foam mattress was
covered with soft cotton sheets and an ikat bedspread. A wooden table and chairs and a
cupboard with a locked drawer for valuables completed the furnishings.
