Location
Amanusa commands a garden hillside in southern Bali. Just beyond, the Bali Golf and
Country Club stretches near to the Indian Ocean. Close by are the bougainvillea-line roads
of Nusa Dua, a model complex of hotels, restaurants and boutiques. The honky-tonk world of
Kuta is less than 20 minutes away. Denpasar, the island capital, and its boutique-squeezed
streets, is a 30 minutes drive from the resort.
Accommodation
Amanusa's colonnaded, open-air entrance hall is lined with baskets of white
tuberoses. Framing the marble-floored foyer is a large teak-wood sculpture illustrating
scenes from the Ramayana, the epic Hindu poem.
Amanusa's 35 thatched-roof suites are set
behind mossy, paras-stone walls. Walkway connect to guest facilities, the neighboring golf
course and the Beach Club. All suites come with a sunken indoor bath, outdoor shower,
four-poster bed and circular dining table for private dining. Each suite also features a
garden courtyard and table setting, as well as a balcony furnished with an oversized day
bed and canopy for sunning and dining. Eight suites have private swimming pools. Deluxe
suite come with panoramic views of the ocean or the golf course.
